Facebook to now tell you why you see a particular post in you see a particular post in your News Feed.

Social networking giant Facebook has rolled out a new feature called “Why am I seeing this post?” to its News Feed, which Facebook claims is the first time that they have built information on how ranking works directly into the app.

You will be able to find this option in the drop down menu in the right hand corner of a post. Facebook has given three broad parameters on which it will include certain posts in their Feed:

(a) how often you interact with posts from people, Pages or Groups

(b) how often you interact with a specific type of post, for example, videos, photos or links

(c) the popularity of the posts shared by the people, Pages and Groups you follow.

Along with this new feature, Facebook is also making changes to “Why am I seeing this ad?” feature that it rolled out in 2014. “Now we’ll include additional details about the ads you see when information on an advertiser’s list matches your Facebook profile,” said Facebook in a blogpost. Facebook will now provide details such as when the advertiser uploaded the information or if the advertiser worked with another marketing partner to run the ad.

Recently, Facebook rolled out a dedicated gaming tab on the platform. The company wrote, “We want to make it easier for people to find and connect around their favourite games, streamers, groups, and more. So today we’re starting to roll out a dedicated Facebook Gaming tab in the main navigation bar that will be a central home for people to discover, play, watch, and share gaming content personalized for them.” In the gaming tab, Facebook users can find content that they want to see easily. Since it’s a gaming hub, there will be a lot of instant games available for users. Facebook says that “Facebook Gaming tab will become the primary home for Instant Games on Facebook, and we’re building new ways for people to invite friends, chat, and play together inside the tab.”
