SBI is blocking internet banking access for these users, check if your account is affected
The State Bank of India (SBI), on its website, has announced that it will block all internet banking users who have not registered mobile numbers with their bank accounts. If any SBI bank account doesn’t have a mobile number linked to it and if you are using it for internet banking, SBI will block internet banking access from December 1 onwards. So, if you don’t want to lose access to your SBI internet banking account then visit your nearest SBI bank branch before November 30. But before you do so, here is how to check whether you have already linked your mobile number to your SBI internet banking account online.
Visit SBI internet banking websitem — www.onlinesbi.com — on any desktop browser
Login into the full-fledged (Not Yono or Lite site) online banking site with your ID and password
Once logged in, click on ‘My accounts and profile’ tab
Select ‘Profile’ option from the drop down menu under ‘My accounts and profile’ tab
Click on ‘Personal Details/Mobile’ option
You will then have to enter your profile password (note that it is a separate password and not the same as your login password)
The personal details page will show your registered name, email-ID and mobile number that is linked with the account
If you have already linked a mobile number with the account then it will be shown in 98XXX format
If there is no mobile number linked then it will be shown blank and you will have to visit the bank branch to link your mobile number
Only internet banking will be blocked from December 1 if no mobile number is linked
SBI bank account will continue to be operational and no other service will be stopped
