US man says he has eaten plain cheese pizza every night for the last 37 years

Pizza is one of the most beloved foods on the planet. Statistically, it’s popularity in the United States cannot be matched by any other country. According to the National Association of Pizza Operators, Americans eat about 100 acres of pizza every day and 93% of its population eat pizza at least once a month.

Fair to say, Americans love their pizza.

Now, a man from New Jersey has taken the love for pizzas to a new and unbelievable high. Mike Roman says he’s had plain cheese pizza every night for the last 37 years.

Yes, you read that right. 37 years.

Roman, who hails from Hackensack, New Jersey. revealed his dietary habit recently on Tom La Vecchia’s “New Theory” podcast.



Speaking on the podcast, the 41-year-old said his pizza eating habit started when he was a child and used to be a picky eater.

He added that his mother gave up on trying to fight his eating habit when he was just 4-years-old. She eventually let him eat pizza for dinner every night.

“Every day I’m just as fascinated as the day before. Dinner to me is nothing really that special,” Roman told Business Insider.

He also said that he can never get bored of eating pizzas.

An elementary school teacher by profession, Roman says he usually eats peanut butter sandwich for lunch but sometimes replaces it with pizza.

Roman says that he is in perfectly good health as “pizza has three of the four basic food groups.
