The world’s richest man Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani are reportedly in talks about a deal. The talks between the two companies are said to be in exploratory stages. As per a report economic times, Amazon is in exploratory talks with Reliance Retail to acquire up to 26% in the country’s largest brick-and-mortar retailer. Reliance Retail is a subsidiary of RIL. The report quotes two senior industry executives.
Talks started after Reliance’s negotiations with China’s Alibaba Group to sell a stake in the retail entity reportedly fell through due to differences over valuation.
