Rs. 2,750 Cashback, 100GB Additional Data With Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018), Galaxy J7 Duo
Jio and Samsung India have partnered to introduce exclusive offers on the purchase of two Samsung Galaxy devices, the Galaxy J2 (2018) and Galaxy J7 Duo, bundling them with cashbacks and other benefits for Jio users. Since last year, Jio has offered cashbacks on a number of smartphones and this is just the latest in a number of partnerships it has forged with smartphone brands to lure subscribers to its network. The Mukesh Ambani-promoted telco is the fourth biggest operator in India and has over 180 million subscribers across the country.
As part of the scheme, Jio subscribers buying the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) can avail instant cashback vouchers up to Rs. 2,750 (55 cashback vouchers worth Rs. 50 each) along with 100GB additional 4Gdata (10 vouchers for 10GB additional data each) benefit. The offer is valid till September 30, 2018, and users will be able to avail the cashbacks and benefits with the Rs. 198 and Rs. 299 prepaid plans.
Similarly, Jio subscribers buying the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo can avail instant cashback vouchers up to Rs. 2,750 (55 cashback vouchers worth Rs. 50 each), and double data for a maximum of four recharges. Once again, the offer is valid till September 30, 2018. Cashbacks are applicable on for Rs. 198 or Rs. 299 prepaid plans, while double data is valid on prepaid plans of Rs. 198 or above.
To recall, the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) was launched in India back in April, and came with pretty much the same launch offers. It appears the partnership has been extended for a longer time – up till September in this case. The Galaxy J2 (2018)’s highlight feature is the preloaded Samsung Mall app that is claimed to use artificial intelligence (AI) to let users shop online by clicking a picture of their desired product. A ‘Device Maintenance’ feature is also present to optimise the smartphone’s performance. Similarly, there is a storage-saving proprietary ‘Move to Memory Card’ feature that automatically directs content from social media apps to the external memory card.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Duo was also launched in April, but didn’t come with any launch offers – meaning the Reliance Jio cashbacks and data benefits are now a selling point for the smartphone. Highlights of the Galaxy J2 Duo include an App Pair feature, Bixby Home, and a dual rear camera setup.
Extra Rs. 50 Cashback: How to Avail the Offer
Jio has launched a new cashback offer for customers using the PhonePe service. The Jio prepaid subscribers will get 20 percent cashback (maximum up to Rs. 50) on purchasing a recharge pack from the MyJio app or Jio.com website and paying for the transaction with PhonePe. Called the ‘Holiday Hungama’ offer, this cashback offer will run from June 1 to June 15. On its website, Jio mentions cashback on the Rs. 399 recharge will be exclusively available via MyJio app, but we could find the cashback offer mentioned against the PhonePe payment option on the website too. To recall, the Rs. 399 Jio recharge provides users with 1.5GB data per day for 84 days, along with freebies such as unlimited calls, 100 SMS messages per day, and access to the company’s apps.
Under the cashback Holiday Hungama offer, Jio provides Rs. 50 cashback to customers on buying a prepaid pack. However, it should be noted that users will get the cashback only on their first PhonePe transaction – if a user has already paid for a recharge using PhonePe, they will not get the cashback. Users will have to select PhonePe as the payment option while making the transaction in order to receive the cashback.
Notably, payments made using the PhonePe wallet balance will not be eligible for the cashback. Even in payments made by clubbing both the wallet balance and UPI/ debit/ credit card, the 20 percent cashback will be calculated after subtracting the PhonePe wallet balance portion. Users will get the cashback in the form of PhonePe vouchers within 24 hours of purchasing the recharge pack.
This cashback can be clubbed with the Rs. 50 discount vouchers Jio has provided to customers in the past, so, for example, a user will be able to get the Rs. 399 Jio recharge at an effective price of Rs. 299.
This will be the second cashback offer Jio announces in a span of two days, after the Rs. 2,750 cashback offer it announced earlier today for Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) and Galaxy J7 Pro smartphones. It also comes weeks after the operator launched a Rs. 199 postpaid plan with 25GB data, its most affordable postpaid plan yet. Users recently also got 2GB per day free data ahead of the IPL 2018 final.
Holiday Hungama Offers Rs. 100 Discount On Rs. 399 Recharge
Reliance Jio, under its Holiday Hungama offer, is offering Rs. 100 as instant discount and cashback to users who recharge their phones with the prepaid recharge plan of Rs. 399. This would effectively reduce the price of its ‘highest-selling’ prepaid recharge plan of Rs. 399 to Rs.299, Jio said. Jio’s Holiday Hungama offer is a limited period scheme and will run from June 1 to June 15, Jio said in a press release. “It is launched as it is holiday season and Jio wishes to make it easier for people to recharge on the go and make the most of these holidays,” Jio said.

The Rs. 100 instant discount to be available on MyJio app for users who pay via PhonePe app.
This Rs. 100 instant discount comprises two components:
1) Rs. 50 instant discount will be offered for Jio prepaid users who have Rs. 50 cashback vouchers from Jio on recharging via MyJio App.
2) Rs. 50 instant cashback will be offered when payment is done via PhonePe, inside MyJio App.
With the new offer, Jio’s unlimited monthly services (with 1.5 GB data daily) will be available at effectively only Rs. 100. Rs. 399 (with Rs. 100 instant discount) = Rs. 299 divided by three months = Rs. 100.
