JioFiber broadband effect: BSNL offers free Amazon Prime with its broadband, cashback available from Rs 499 plan.

The arrival of JioFiber in the Indian home broadband market has shaken up things massively in the market. Even though Reliance hasn’t announced the exact prices of the plan, its rivals have started adopting all possible ways to retain their existing customers and gain more. BSNL is also an active player in this race and in a bid to outsmart Jio’s broadband service, BSNL has introduced new offers for its broadband plans.

A recent report from Telecom Talk details all the offers that BSNL has put up. Most of these offers include major cashbacks and if subscribers go for the annual plans, then BSNL will offering a complimentary subscription to Amazon Prime subscription for one month. However, in order to avail it, there’s a catch.

When it comes to cashbacks, BSNL is offering up to 25 per cent cashback with all plans starting from Rs 499 and going all the way up to Rs 900 and above. If subscribers opt for any monthly plan with prices between Rs 499 to Rs 900, they will be eligible for a cashback of 20 per cent. If subscribers go for a plan costing more than Rs 900 per month, they will get 25 per cent cash back.

If subscribers opt for the annual plans, they will be eligible to get the free Amazon Prime subscription costing Rs 999 per year. However, customers will have to ensure that they stick to one monthly plan for an entire year.

The Amazon Prime subscription of Rs 999 offers lots of benefits and given that it is available as a complimentary benefit, it is a good option for BSNL subscribers. With the Prime subscription, consumers will get access to Prime service on Amazon that offers access to priority delivery and exclusive deals on Amazon’s website. Apart from that, Amazon also offers access to Prime Video and Prime Music, both of which are great deals for movie buffs. The subscription lasts for 365 days.

These kinds of deals do make BSNL’s broadband service a good alternative to all the services from private operators. Jio’s GigaFIber broadband was expected to offer disruptive pricing but it didn’t do so as base plan starts from Rs 700 and the speed of 100Mbps is almost on par with anything else. Jio is yet to announce the prices and exact benefits of its broadband plans in detail.
