The most fundamental factors through which a government’s performance can be judged is life expectancy, literacy and the per capita income. Here are 5 things that have changed since the last Lok Sabha elections.

2. The mobile data consumption
The mobile data prices have drastically gone down across the communication spectrum. Meanwhile, the usage has also increased from 33 MB per person to 8.3 GB per person. The prices of internet services have fallen down from Rs 33 per GB to Rs 10.9 per GB.
3. Household with access to toilets
With the introduction of schemes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the household access to toilets has increased from 38 per cent in 2014 to 98 per cent in 2019. The nucleus of the scheme is to end open defecation in the country.
4. Fiscal deficit
The fiscal deficit of the country has gone down from 6.71 per cent in 2014 to 5.80 per cent in 2019. The fiscal deficit is the deficit which occurs when the government’s total expenditures exceed the revenue, excluding money from borrowings.
5. Crude oil prices
The petrol diesel prices have been fluctuating across the country but the crude oil today is nearly 20 per cent lower than in mid-2014.
