New WhatsApp bug may delete all photos on its own for these users

Before you hit the update button hoping to get new features on WhatsApp, note that a new bug on WhatsApp version 2.19.66 is reportedly causing photos to disappear. This bug is affecting WhatsApp beta users and updating to WhatsApp 2.19.66 might cause all your WhatsApp chat photos to get deleted from the app. Thankfully, the photos are saved in Gallery for group chats.

Users took to Twitter to report about this issue and warned others from downloading this update as there are no extra features in this version.

Several users also said that WhatsApp has reportedly already released a fix for the problem, having said that, the issue continues to exist for some users.

Some users also reported that they were finding it difficult to see WhatsApp statuses and the bug reportedly turned WhatsApp statuses grey making user doubt as to whether they were blocked by any of their friends.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has recently roll out an update to fix the issue on iPhones that allowed anyone to go past the Face ID lock and read chats.

WhatsApp recently introduced a new feature on iOS through which users can lock WhatsApp by using Face ID or a passcode. This native WhatsApp lock was long required and helps users to protect WhatsApp chats in case their phone is being used by someone else for a specific reason. This feature is expected to arrive in Android phones soon.

In order to counter abusive behaviour and hate messages, Department of Telecom (DoT) has now announced that people can file a complaint officially against any unwanted behaviour from strangers.

The victim just needs to furnish a screen-shot of the message, along with the mobile number and e-mail it to ccaddn-dot@nic.in.

“If anyone is receiving abusive/ offensive/ death threats/ vulgar WhatsApp messages, please send screen-shots of the message along with the mobile numbers at ccaddn-dot@nic.in

“We will take it up with the telecom operators and police heads for necessary action,” DoT Controller Communications, Ashish Joshi, has tweeted.
