Why I Prefer Missed Call
The missed call method to know the EPF balance is most convenient to me. It is better than the mobile app and SMS. These are the reasons.
- Unlike mobile App, you don’t need a smartphone to use the missed call service. Any phone can be used for the EPF balance enquiry.
- Keeping mobile app for such a rare use not advisable. Neither every person has enough space to download many apps. We know there are many useful apps.
- Making a call is easier than typing an SMS.

In response to the missed call, the EPFO would send you an SMS. This SMS contains the information about the EPF balance in your account. Along with this, the SMS has Following details.

Requirements to Know PF Balance
To get the EPF balance through the SMS, you must fulfill these condition.
- You should have the UAN
- The UAN should be activated.
- Your correct mobile number should be given at UAN portal. If not change the mobile number first.
- You should call from the same mobile number which is given at UAN portal.
- Your UAN should have seeded the Bank Account number / PAN/ Adhaar number.
Mechanism of Missed Call
The UAN which has the PAN / Bank Account number / Adhaar number is considered as the verified UAN. When you give the mobile number during UAN activation it gets linked to UAN. The UAN member portal maintains all the information about the EPF member.
When you give a missed call to the EPFO, your mobile number is tallied with the UAN database. On the basis of your mobile number, the UAN is fetched.
Taking details from this account, the UAN sends a standard SMS to the respective mobile number.
Missed Call Service Not Working
