JioTV App Surpasses Vodafone Play and Airtel TV by Offering 621 Free Live TV Channels

Apart from cost-effective prepaid recharge offerings, Reliance Jio keeps its users hooked with a large suite of apps that are complementary to these plans. Of all the apps, JioTV seems to the most compelling offering with a number of existing and older TV shows, movies and other digital content. As of now, the JioTV app hosts over 621 free live TV channels, making it the leader in this segment.

Not long ago, DTH service providers ruled the TV world with limited content. The face of media consumption has changed ever since digital streaming platforms have come to rise. Also, easy and unlimited internet availability makes it convenient for users to access entertainment. JioTV came into existence ever since Reliance Jio made its debut as a telecom operator two years back. The app has gained popularity in a very short span and the followers are still counting.

JioTV Beats Airtel TV and Vodafone Play

Going by the figures, JioTV is far ahead of the Airtel TV and Vodafone Play, both of which are popular free live TV apps. Airtel has collaborated with multiple content providers like  SonyLIV, Hotstar, Eros Now, Amazon, HOOQ, ALTBalaji, and more to offer 370 Plus channels. However, all the content combined is still not enough to beat JioTV app at its game. Vodafone, on the other hand, offers over 300 live TV channels, in partnership with Yupp TV, HOOQ, ALTBajali, and others. The platform also offers a good collection of movies in regional languages. The telco announced to add more channels and local flicks to their digital collection. The announcement came as a follow up to Reliance Jio’s lead in the segment.

JioTV currently offers 621 free live TV channels that include news channels, entertainment channels, devotional, educational, business, and fitness-related channels. The app caters its content to every member of the family. For kids, there are dedicated informational channels as well. Like Vodafone Play, JioTV app also offers content in different regional languages. The app also offers HD content in both Hindi and English languages. The app is available for download on the Google Play Store, just like the Airtel TV and the Vodafone Play app. The download count of the JioTV has gone up to 100 million. In comparison, Airtel TV app has 50 million downloads.
