PF interest to be credited soon! Here’s how you can check your balance online or through SMS and missed call.

New Delhi: Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation which recently announced EPF interest rate increase to 8.65%, is expected to credit the EPF interest rate in members’ account for the previous financial year. EPF members can easily check their balance either online or through missed call.

It may be noted that EPFO enables its members to check their PF balance through its website, UMANG app, missed call and even text message. In order to check your balance, you must be registered on the official EPFO website. Since the interest will be credit soon, here’s how you can check your updated PF account balance.



 

1. Text Message: EPFO registered members can know their PF account balance by texting their Universal Account Number (UAN) to 7738299899. They have to type EPFOHO UAN ENG and send it to the given number. They will receive their accpunt balance through text.

2. Missed call: Registered EPFO members can also know their PF account balance through missed call. Just give a missed call to 011-22901406. Following this, you will receive an SMS which will contain all the details of your PF balance.

3. EPFO official website: The salaried employees can check the PF balance online using the designated Universal Account Number (UAN) issued by the EPFO by visiting the EPFO website



 

Step 1: Visit EPFO weblink .

Step 2: Locate ‘Our Services’ and click on ‘For Employees’ from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Click on ‘Member Passbook’ under the ‘Services’ option.

Step 4: Login with the EPFO username and password.

Step 5: Enter the captcha code and click on login.

Step 6: Click on the Member ID and the EPF passbook will be displayed.

UMANG app: Umang app provides a single platform for citizens to access pan India e-Gov services ranging from central to local government bodies and other citizen-centric services. Here’s how you can check PF details using the app



 

Step 1: Download the UMANG app on your smartphone and open the app. Locate EPFO and click on it.

Step 3: Click on the ’employee centric service’ to proceed further.

Step 4: Under ’employee centric service’, there are three options – View passbook, raise the claim and track the claim. Click on the view passbook tab to know your PF balance/details.

Step 5: Enter your active UAN and then click on ‘Get OTP’. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.

Step 6: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Login’ to proceed. You will be able to view the complete list of all your EPF accounts created during your employment with various employers. You can access all the details and you will also get an option to download the complete passbook.
