How to withdraw provident fund (PF) money online, check steps.

New Delhi: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the retirement fund syndicate, offers the facility to withdraw provident fund (PF) money online. With the facility of online withdrawal, all the employees can easily transfer the provident fund money to the respective bank accounts by accessing the EPF passbook. The provident fund balance can be checked with the Universal Account Number (UAN) issued by the EPFO by visiting the EPFO website.



 

According to the prescribed guidelines by the EPFO, an employee is eligible to withdraw up to 100 per cent of the provident fund balance on the course of unemployment of more than two months. The provident fund balance can be withdrawn for special purposes as mandated by the EPFO such as buying a house, construction/renovation of the house, repayment of loans, treatment of illness, etc. In the EPF account, 12 per cent of the salary is contributed by the employee and the rest 12 per cent is added by the employer.

Steps to withdraw provident fund money online

Step 1: Visit the unified portal of EPFO: https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.

Step 2: Login with the UAN and password.

Step 3: Enter the captcha code and sign in.

Step 4: Move the cursor on the ‘Manage’ tab and click on ‘KYC’ from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: Check whether the KYC is complete or not.

Step 6: Move the mouse cursor to the ‘Online Services’ tab and click on ‘Claim (Form-31,19 & 10C)’ from the drop-down.

Step 7: Click on ‘Verify’ on the claim screen displayed.

Step 8: Enter the last four digits of the bank account on the claim form.

Step 9: Submit the form by clicking on ‘Proceed for online claim’.

Following the approval of KYC details of the applicant, the PF amount will be transferred in the bank account mentioned within 10 days.
