Climate change is real or not, we can have this discussion for days without even coming to a conclusion.

But, social media addiction is real for sure, and Facebook, being the flag bearer of social media, as it has got the most number of users is the most addictive of all.

In this article, we are going to talk about how you can track your time on Facebook so that you can keep your Facebook addiction in check.

With Google and Apple providing abilities to track your time and usage on the smartphone, Facebook has also jumped the bandwagon by offering a similar feature called ‘Your Time On Facebook’

What exactly is ‘Your Time On Facebook”?

This is a feature by Facebook which helps you track time you spend in the world’s most popular social networking site.

And probably when you know how much you are using it, you might be able to control it, which can obviously lead to a much healthier, physical, and mental lifestyle.

Here is how you can use this feature in the Facebook app on your smartphone.

☞ Launch the Facebook app on your smartphone then tap on the hamburger icon on the top right corner, it will open the Facebook options.

☞ You can scroll down a little and find Settings & Privacy option and tap on it.

☞ You will find ‘Your time on Facebook’ option on the third number, simply tap on it to get started.

☞ You will see that the setting will give you the time spent on the app in the past 7 days listed on the top, followed by a bar graph, which gives you the breakup of the data for the week.

☞ You can set a daily reminder, which allows the app to remind you when you exceed your given average time spent on Facebook.

☞ You can also manage your notifications as to what notifications from Facebook you want to receive. There is also an option to mute notification if you don’t want Facebook to bother you for a while.

These Stats can be really helpful in knowing how much time you are spending inside Facebook, however, it only shows you your time on Facebook, inside the app only.

If you are using Facebook for desktop, it does not calculate that time in this graph.

So, if you use Facebook at work on your PC and you want to cut that, this feature probably is not going to work for you.
