Today the usage of second hand bikes, scooters, cars even large vehicles are rising on daily basis. The main problem is to check the authenticity of the vehicles before buying.
There are many mobile apps and website which tells to check the authenticity of the vehicles but the official site is the main which is basically provided by government of India on which we can check to which person the vehicle is registered along with details of chassis id and other details.
These all things are part of Transport Mission Mode Project – through its flagship applications Vahan (for Vehicle Registration) – has achieved 100% automation of 1000+ RTOs all across the country. The consolidated data in State and National Registry act as the base for a large number of online citizen centric applications and information services.
The new system will consolidate the database and applications for all RTOs across all states into a common, centralized platform and deliver the core services of Vahan throughout the country.
Note: As per latest update the person who is trying to retrieve the data of registration vehicle details will need to provide its mobile number as well along with vehicle number. After putting the vehicle number and your mobile number an OTP will be received on your mobile which you have to put and you will get the desired vehicle details.
Check vehicle registration on parivahan portal(Go to Online services and inside that know your vehicle details). Even now they have mobile app for this portal.

But as change in portal now we provide mobile number as well to receive OTP and authenticate the OTP to get details.
