Central government has finally launched the GST (Goods and Services Tax) on 1st July and a whole new tax era has begun in the country. GST aims to simplify how people and entities are taxed and how they pay taxes. Since GST is a whole new thing in the country, traders, individuals, account professionals and firms are looking to upgrade their skills in line with the GST.
GST Training Course under PMKVY
The central government has announced GST training course to create a workforce of GST-trained professionals. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has announced a 100-hour certificate course to understand the new tax regime.
In the first phase, the GST training course will begin in three cities from 15th July. Delhi, Bengaluru, and Bhopal are the three cities where GST Training programme would be conducted which is conceptualized under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
How to Enroll for GST Training Course

The course would be conducted at 100 centers across these 3 cities. Anyone who wish to upgrade their skills can undergo this training. Candidates including chartered accountants, company secretaries, graduates and post-graduates in commerce, banking, statistics, financial markets and business administration can get the GST training certificate after successfully undergoing the GST training course.
The new GST training course would cater to the urgent need of GST trained professionals to help their clients in the concepts of taxation, registration under GST and calculation of tax liability under GST. Skill India campaign would also contribute in creating a workforce of GST trained professionals. The new tax regime is also expected to increase the hiring by up to 11% across the sectors.
