Internet search giant Google has rolled out a new feature for its Maps app, which will be quite a boon among those who love eating out with friends.

Called the group planning feature, this tool will allow users to easily share the links of the restaurants they wish to suggest to their friends. Here’s how you can do it:

1.

Open Google Maps app

2.

Tap on Restaurants in the Explore tab

3.

Long Press on any location

4.

Drop the link in a small floating bubble, which appears on the lower right side of the screen

5.

After shortlisting all the places, share them on any social messaging platform such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Google Hangouts

This shared link will show the locations of all the restaurants you have selected and once all your friends have the shortlisted restaurants, they can then vote for them in the form of likes and dislikes to express their preference. Each member of the group also has the option to add and delete places, as per their choice. The shared link redirects all the group members to the Google Maps app, however, if a group member doesn’t have the app they can also view it on the web.

“The group planning feature starts rolling out on Android and iOS this week. To get started, download the Google Maps app or update it from the Play Store or App Store,” said the company in a blog post.
Google Maps allows others ‘track’ your smartphone’s battery
Google recently rolled out a new feature for its Android users which allows them to share the battery level of their smartphone when they will share their location. According to a report by Android Police, the battery sharing feature has been around for sometime but was not visible to everyone. Moreover, the feature also didn’t show the exact percentage level of the battery until then. The new feature is said to work in accordance with the location sharing feature of Google Maps.
