Walmart-backed Flipkart has announced the dates of its upcoming sale. Called ‘The Republic Day Sale’, the three-day sale will start on January 20 and will end on January 22. For its Flipkart Plus members, the sale will start one day earlier on January 19 at 8 pm.
Flipkart has revealed that it will be offering discounts on mobiles, up to 75% off on TVs and appliances, up to 80% off electronics and accessories, 40-80% on fashion product and home and furniture, up to 90% on groceries and more.
The e-commerce giant has partnered with SBI bank to offer 10% instant discount on SBI credit cards. As part of the sale, Flipkart is offering no cost EMI on leading bank credit cards and Bajaj Finserv EMI cards and exchange offers on mobiles.

Flipkart will also have ‘block-buster deals’ under which it will reveal new deals every 8 hours on mobiles, laptops, TVs, fashion products and more. As part of ‘Rush hours’ it will offer extra discounts till 2 am on January 20. Lastly, there will be ‘Extra Special 26’ all days of sale from 2pm to 6pm.
As for discounts, shopping worth Rs 1,450 will get buyers a discount of 10%, while shopping for Rs 1,950 will get users 15% discount. Also, buying 3 products would get users 10% discount and buying 4 product will get them 15% discount.
Amazon Great Indian sale also starts January 20
Incidentally, the dates of Amazon’s upcoming sale in India — called the
Amazon Great Indian sale — are overlapping with Flipkart’s Republic Day sale. The four-day sale on Amazon will start on January 20 and will end on January 23.
The company will offer all the discounted products for Prime members 12 hours before the actual sale, which is 12 noon on January 19, 2019.
Customers shopping during the Great Indian Sale will get extra 10% instant discount if they use HDFC bank debit and credit cards and EMI. The no-cost EMI is also applicable while shopping via Bajaj Finserv EMI card and select debit and credit cards.
