PMKVY is an aggressive skill training scheme of NDA government. Under the PMKVY, the central government provides various skill training courses in different industrial verticals through authorized training centers.



This is one of the schemes which has been launched with the vision to provide skill training to the Indian Youths at the same time provide them proper placement as well.

PMKVY scheme offers 419 job courses under which students get training. Each course was designed with the vision to impart theoretical as well as practical training to the candidates.

Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

1. Government initiatives are there to train the youth of India. However, PMKVY training is considered as a unique venture from the Indian government, it is a flagship scheme, under which Indian youth can develop their technical skills.

2. This scheme has been formulated to benefit the youth of the country. More than 24 Lac youth will be the part of this scheme at the initial stage, as assumed by the Indian government.

3. The scheme also introduces monetary awards to the best performers. Those, who want to pursue their technical education, get help from the government regarding scholarships, educational loans, etc.

4. Under PMKVY skills training, nationalised standard will be maintained. Students, who will undergo this training program, can apply for further education in various prominent institutions. Moreover, the certification under this program will also be taken as an advantage in the job selection process.

5. All high standard institutions come under the scheme of PMKVY training partners. Hence, joining any such institute will ensure a good standard of teaching.



Features of PMKVY

1. The aim is to train 24 lakh youths with an evaluated training cost of Rs. 1, 500 cores.

2. To create registry of skills

3. Raising the productivity of the skilled individuals which is used for nation’s development.

4. On an average trainee will get Rs. 8000 as a reward. Third party assessment body would give this. However to receive the reward, the trainee will have to appear for assessment test and based on the test results, a reward would be given. This money directly credited to the bank account of the candidate.

5. To cross-check whether the candidate has previously been paid Rs. 8, 000 rewards, use of Aadhar number will be made. So that is why Aadhar number is required for receiving the reward.

6. Training provided based on the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) and industry-led standards, and it would be a need based training.

7. Many of the skills do not require any types of educational qualification or experience.

8. Feedback would be collected by all the trainees who undergo assessment. It will help in calculating the effectiveness of Kaushal Vikas Scheme.



Who is Eligible for PMKVY?

Main eligibility criteria to enroll in the scheme are to be the Indian citizen by birth.
